Shannon Hummel/Cora Inc includes The Cora School for Dance, The Cora Studio and Cora Dance the contemporary dance company that performs the collaborative choreographic works of Shannon Hummel in a manner that is physically, financially and emotionally respectful and responsible to all artists involved. Hummel’s works are vivid explorations of the human condition. Richly theatrical yet uniquely physical, she marries the abstract power of compelling dancing with narrative’s concrete force of emotion. Hummel is a weaver of eloquent stories, brought to life by an outstanding ensemble of performers, transporting audiences into undeniably distinctive universes. In addition to work for the formal stage, the company strives to offer community based projects and educational opportunities for dancers and non-dancers of all ages.
